What's up — welcome to Pipeline Playbook.
Every Tuesday, you get one tactical playbook you can implement today. No theory. No fluff. Just what works.
Let's get into it.
The Problem With Most Cold Emails
They sound like this:
"Hi [First Name], I hope this email finds you well. I'm reaching out because I noticed your company is in the [industry] space, and I thought you might be interested in learning how we help companies like yours..."
Delete.
Here's the truth: your prospect doesn't care about you. They care about their problems, their metrics, and their next promotion.
So let's write emails that actually get responses.
The 3-Part Framework: Problem → Proof → Path
Every cold email that books meetings follows this structure:
1. Problem (2 sentences max)
Call out a specific pain they're likely feeling. Not generic — specific.
2. Proof (1 sentence)
Show you've solved this before. Numbers beat words.
3. Path (1 sentence + CTA)
Make the next step stupid easy.
That's it. No company history. No feature lists. No "I hope this finds you well."
Real Example (Before & After)
❌ Before:
Hi Sarah,
I'm John from AcmeTech. We're a leading provider of sales engagement solutions that help companies improve their outbound efficiency. I wanted to reach out and see if you'd be open to learning how we've helped companies like [competitor] increase their response rates.
Would you have 15 minutes this week for a quick call?
✅ After:
Sarah — quick question.
Most sales teams I talk to are burning 40% of their SDR capacity on leads that were never going to convert. It's a pipeline killer.
We helped [similar company] cut that waste in half and book 23% more qualified meetings in 6 weeks.
Worth a 15-min call to see if we could do the same for you?
Same product. Completely different response rate.
Why This Works
Problem: "Burning 40% of SDR capacity" — specific, painful, relatable.
Proof: "23% more qualified meetings in 6 weeks" — concrete result, timeframe included.
Path: "15-min call" — low commitment, clear next step.
Notice what's missing:
No "I hope this finds you well"
No company description
No feature dump
No "I'd love to learn more about your challenges"
Just value, delivered fast.
Your Playbook Action Items
Today:
Pull your last 10 cold emails
Highlight every sentence about YOU (your company, your product, your features)
Rewrite using Problem → Proof → Path
This week:
A/B test your new framework against your current template
Track reply rates (not just open rates — anyone can write clickbait subject lines)
Benchmark: If you're below 5% reply rate on cold outbound, this framework alone should get you to 8-12%.
The Bottom Line
Stop writing emails that sound like everyone else's. Your prospects get 100+ emails a day. Most are garbage.
Be the one that isn't.
Problem → Proof → Path. That's the playbook.
